GOING TO DISNEY, BABY!!!!!!

We are going to start this new year off right!!!
10 days and counting until we depart for Walt Disney in Orlando!! I am so excited. In fact, I think I'm more excited than Austin. In case you missed previous posts, Austin plays tournament soccer and his team won the Regionals to advance to the Nationals being played at the Wide World of Sports at Disney! The tournament is Jan. 14-16th, but we are heading out on the 10th so we can spend a couple of days at leisure before the tournament begins. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I have never been to Disney before so I will be like a kid myself, I'm sure!

BUT wait...there's more. What's even cooler than the fact of going to Disney is that the games are possibly going to be televised, so you may see Austin on national television! SO COOL, SO COOL, SO COOL!!!!
Austin has accomplished more in his 11 years of life than I have in my entire existence. WE ARE SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!

SO WISH US LUCK!!!!! I will post a gazillion pictures when we get back. You will probably feel like you were there!

{Austin will also be playing in the USSSA World Series in Branson, MO in July (Baseball)}
IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Christmas Present to Me!

I don't get a lot of gifts for Christmas because, well we're poor and we spend all of our money on Austin. Plus, my mother lives in a different state and we don't really talk much. Anyway- Todd's mom buys me some things and I am always grateful and appreciative because she always buys me great things. This year she gave me $25 on top of the other gifts. So I journey to town to find me a nice, white sweater to go with a baby blue scarf, glove & hat set that a friend of mine gave me. I asked my friend Rachel to take pictures of me and Austin this weekend and I wanted to be wearing these in the photos. BUT...things changed while I was shopping! For over a year now I have been wanting a cream color Peacoat. I love those things, but I could never find one in my size or the right color. Plus I decided that I really didn't want the cream or light color because I would have it dirty in no time. I would go into all of the more expensive stores around my area hoping to find one to my liking, but was always disappointed. So I gave up on buying one in the spring of this year. Well low and behold, I find one when I least expect it! IN OLD NAVY!!!! I knew that they carried them, because that's where a friend of mine got hers, but I could never catch one in there. Funny how that works out, huh?
Here is my wonderful find!!!! It's just the right color and fits me great! I LOVE IT!

Get this, I only paid $40 bucks for it!!!! That is even better!!! But don't tell Todd 'cause he just doesn't need to know about the little bit of "extra" that came out of the account! shhh

HERE'S THE BUMMER - Sunday you could have stood outside and pissed and your pee would freeze instantly. I buy the coat yesterday then today..well, it's only 71 degrees today! WTF!
And the weather is showing warm weather all week! Oh the joys of living in the South. You never know what to expect! Guess I will have to wait for the rain then the cold weather to sneak back in.
I never did run across the RIGHT white sweater that I was looking for, but I'm happy about my coat. And I don't care if it's 90 degrees outside, I will have on my coat, scarf, gloves and hat for the photos, DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The $118.00 Pair of Shoes!!

Ok. If you read my previous post then you would know what I'm talking about.

Recap -

My 11 year old son received some money for Christmas and decided he needed a new pair of shoes. After going to 6 different stores he decided on these:

Ok.. don't get me wrong, I like the shoes, but $118.00 for these suckers????
That is just crazy! But like he said, it was his money and he wanted them. I guess if it was something that I really wanted, then I would spend that much as well.

Almost Forgot About the Party!

I guess I could tell you a little about our Company Christmas Party! I was so wrapped up about the house and forgot to tell you about the good time I had!
I didn't really want to go to begin with because I honestly didn't think that I would have a good time. But as usual, I was wrong. I spent my whole night laughing at everyone else. A lot of people were drinking and they got really crazy (but in a fun way). People that I don't really hear much from cut loose and it was very nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. We always get so caught up in work that we sometimes forget that we can actually have fun together! I do however regret that a lot of people left earlier than expected, so the party ended early. But I didn't go home. The night before I received a VERY unexpected phone call from a another girl that I work with (she works in another building plus we live two streets over from each other and we just started talking recently) and she wanted to know if I would come over and keep her company and wrap presents. I was a little shocked to get her call, but it was very nice to know that she wanted to spend time with me and get to know me to begin a friendship. That was a great Christmas present for me. It made me feel wanted and I haven't really felt like that lately. ANYWAY - I didn't get to go the night she called, but I told her that if I left the party early that I would stop by and help her. Well the party ended around 10:30 so I left there and called her up. She was still awake and wrapping gifts. Let me just say that I had a wonderful time just talking and enjoying one on one company with her. I stayed chatting with her until 2am. In fact, her husband woke up and joined us. I really feel a great Friendship starting - so THANK YOU SHANNON!
~Back to the party! The food was great and my co-workers in the International Department were hilarious. It was a party, although short, I'm glad I didn't miss.

Here is a picture of me and my crazy co-workers in the International Department!

Company Christmas Party

We had a very nice Christmas party this year. There is a local guy that has a very unique camphouse that he let us use for our party. He has so many old, antique treasures in his camphouse and I was just in awe of these amazing artifacts! I love going back in time with familiar things. One thing that I loved, but didn't take pictures of was the old S.D. Lee High school memorabilia. I graduated from there in '92 and it was so neat seeing things dated back from the 50-60's. I took many photos, but will only post my favorites as a glipse of the history the house holds.

This is just a small glipse of the amazing things this house holds. I hope to go back when I have more time to enjoy it and able to take better pictures. I could probably spend all day in there!

My Christmas

Well... as most of you probably already know, I am VERY glad that Christmas is OVER! Things went well for my family, but I just get too stressed out and it kills me! Every year I really worry about giving Austin a good Christmas, which I'm sure all parents do this with their children. I always feel like I can never give him enough! But I know my child is so spoiled and has a heck of a lot more than most kids his age, but I just can't help myself! This year I was really stressing out because I'm with a new company and wasn't sure about bonuses. When I started I was told that we have always gotten bonuses, but of course they are not guaranteed! Well guess what, the year I start we don't get one!!! So I completely stress out because we were not sure if Todd would be getting one either since he's a truck driver and fuel increased so much! But thank goodness Todd got his the day before Christmas Eve, so we headed to town and bought the rest of the gifts. I know that some of you are probably thinking that I should be buying things all year, but I just don't function that way. I never have. I always wait until the last minute!

Anyway - as much as I stressed out about Austin it was all for nothing!
He was very pleased with what he got:

1. A set of King Cobra Junior Golf Clubs - {he wants to start tournament golf this spring}
2. A MP3 player - {I'm a little jealous of this one - I may have to buy myself one of these}
3. An Ole Miss Fossil Watch
4. An Ole Miss Pull Over Wind Jacket
5. An Ole Miss Hat - I bet you can't tell that he likes Ole Miss!!!
6. The Dukes of hazard DVD
7. A Remote Control Chrysler 300 car that will scale at 100 mph!!!!! This thing is HUGE!!! And of course Todd's pick! I think Todd wanted to get it for Austin so that he could play with it!

As you can see, his list wasn't long but what he got was very nice things! He is getting more difficult each year. He is at that awkward stage where he's outgrowing toys, but not quite old enough for some stuff.
A good example of that is trying to find him shoes!!!
He got money from other various family members and friends and he decided that he wanted a new pair of tennis shoes. So today we trot off to town to find him a pair of Nike Shox! Well... that just didn't work out as planned! His feet are too big for the "children sizes" but they don't have shoes small enough in the men's sizes to fit either. Austin's only option was to buy a woman's pair of shoes. NOT going to happen. Try telling your 11 year old son that he's going to have to buy women's shoes...hahahahahahahahaha. My answer was I'll go barefoot before that will happen MOM!!! {Please keep in mind that we live in a small town and we don't have many stores to choose from and I was not driving out of town on my last day off of work}

Needless to say - he found a pair of Nike Shox in the men's section that he LOVED! And of course they didn't have any small enough to fit. Well my determined child says, "Mom, it's my money and I like them and I don't care if they are a size and a half to big. I want them!" No more arguments from me after journeying through 6 stores empty handed. He'll grown into them was my reasoning.
BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE!!!! My child pays $118.00 for this pair of shoes!!!!!!!!!!! I repeat, $118.00. And they aren't even fancy! I will post a picture tomorrow.
I just couldn't believe that!

Anyway - here is a picture of the car that he got!

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miss me?

I'm sure I was greatly missed...yeah ok!!! Sometimes I wonder!

Things are back on track for me and I will be posting regularly again...UNLESS something else happens and I almost throw my POS out the window!!!
But for now I am glad to be back.

Be Back Soon

My computer at home has bombed, so I haven't posted anything new recently. And I really shouldn't be posting from work (hope I don't get fired). I am hoping to fix mine this weekend and get back on track.

Happy Weekend to all!

CHOW!!!
